All swimmers are required to check-in at the Event Area between 7:30am and 8:45am

At check-in, swimmers will receive a race pack containing a race tattoo, swim cap & a selection of goodies courtesy of our sponsors

A short safety briefing will take place at approx 8:45am

The first race (150m Splash) will commence at 9:00am and will be fully completed before the next race starts

Subsequent races will follow one by one in the following order - 300m Dash, 450m Classic & 600 Olympic

Parent swimmers are allowed as "chaperones" for their kids in the 150m Splash race

All races will be fully completed before the next one starts

All swimmers will receive a finisher's medal

FAQs
What is the minimum & maximum age for swimmers?
All swimmers entering the event must be a minimum of 7 years on race day, and the maximum age on race day is 14 years.
What swimwear can I wear?
There are no set swimwear rules, so basically anything goes!
Wear your boardies, rash vests, cover-ups and all other types of swimwear - whatever you are comfortable swimming in!

What can't I wear?
For safety reasons, swimmers aren't allowed to wear heavy items of jewellery, watches or fitbit devices.
No paddles, fins, flotation devices or swimming aids can be used.

What does my entry fee cover?
All entry fees include water safety, a swim cap, a race number tattoo, fruit and water at the end of the race and a finisher's medal plus discounted return tickets for accompanying family & friends.

All swimmers registering online will receive a complimentary return ferry ticket.
All ferry tickets booked using event-specific ticketing codes shall be subject to the standard terms & conditions of the event's ferry operator accepted at the time of booking.
Will late entries be available on the day of the event?
Subject to availability, yes late entries will be available on race day but we highly recommend entering online during the "early bird" registration period to avoid disappointment as there is a limit on the number of swimmers in each event distance to ensure safety and enjoyment for all.

Is there any water safety in place?
Yes, the course is fully supervised with numerous safety personnel positioned throughout the course - standing, wading, swimming and paddling on boards. The swim is unchaperoned - though chaperones may be permitted at the discretion of the event manager on the day if necessary.

Are there any event prizes?
This event will not have any performance-based prizes .
Our aim is to encourage participation in this unique kids swim and provide ALL kids who take part with a fun experience of swimming a race in the ocean. With the support of our event sponsors, there will be a number of spot prizes randomly allocated to competitors and all swimmers will receive a selection of discount vouchers to help make their Family Day on the island really enjoyable.

Are there any time limits for the events?
No, there are no time limits in place and each race distance will be completed in full, with all swimmers exiting through the finish chute, before the next race distance starts.

If I withdraw from the Event, will I be entitled to a refund of my entry fee?
Any registered swimmer withdrawing from the Event for any reason will not be entitled to an entry fee refund.
With the permission of the organiser, a transfer of a swimmer’s registered entry to a nominated replacement swimmer may be permitted.

If there should be a cancellation of the Event because of weather or other adverse conditions, will I be entitled to a refund of my entry fee?
For any cancellation of the Event in such circumstances, there will be generally be no refund of entry fees.

If there should be a cancellation of the Event in order to comply with any local, State or Federal directives regarding Covid-19, will I be entitled to a refund of my entry fee?
For any cancellation of the Event in such circumstances, entry fee refunds will be considered at the organiser’s discretion with a view to balancing the Event's commitments to all key stakeholders involved, including swimmers, sponsors, Event suppliers and service providers.
Generally, if an enforced cancellation is confirmed on/before Sunday 7th February 2021, the organiser will use best endeavours to refund up to 50% of entry fees, provided that all other Event contractual commitments have been met first.
There will generally be no refunds possible if the enforced cancellation is confirmed after Sunday 7th February 2021 (ie. in the last 2 weeks before the Event).
